Christmas is almost here....

So.....it's been awhile since I last posted. A few reasons for this.....been really really chaotic & busy, and I'm not sure that anyone out there is actually reading and/or following this.

A lot has happened since my last post. Our little monkey has had one, and is now onto his second ear infection. He had surgery. He now has 6 teeth. He is crawling on all 4s all over the place. He is pulling up to and cruising along furniture, and is getting to be more and more fun each & every day.

As you know, this weekend is Christmas & will be our first as our little family. We are very much looking forward to all the memories to be made, and I'm trying to make myself stay calm, cool, and collected and not expect too much (or too little) of things. I will admit I'm nervous about all the chaos for our little man & hope that he takes things in stride & doesn't get too tired or over stimulated, and just remains calm, which is why I need to be calm.

All in all, life is good & I can't complain. I try to remind myself daily of ALL of our blessings, and remember that there are SO many other people with so much less than we have, and that we just need to remember the small things that we have! The hubby has been hunting hard this fall, and though I don't always appreciate how much time it takes away from our family time, he has put 4 or 5 deer in our freezer for the winter, so I can't complain at all. I love & admire how much he does for us and how hard he works!

Well, I'd best get to my last minute to do list so I can sit back & enjoy my family, fun-filled weekend! Merry Christmas to everyone out there.....and remember the true meaning of Christmas....Jesus is the reason for the Season! God bless you all!

Birthday Fun....

So, yesterday was my hubby's 27th birthday. It was kind of funny in the days leading up to it, because he kept forgetting it was coming up. I asked how he could forget about his own birthday, and he said it was because we have been so busy with lots of home projects, and because most days he just wants to get home to see our little monkey & me to find out what new things he has discovered that day. Awww....sweet, right?! So, with this in mind we did all we could to make it a super special day.

To start out his morning before work, he got his cards & presents from me & our little monkey. He got a nice polo shirt with some camo on it (which he wore to work, and loved), a Paolo Nutini CD, and the True Grit DVD. While he was at work I baked him a carrot cake from scratch with yummy home made cream cheese frosting too. I also planned out dinner to make. We had a nice dinner just the 3 of us at home. After dinner we just relaxed and enjoyed our family time. About 7:15, my parents came over to bring him his birthday card/present. I continued on with getting our monkey ready for bed while they started watching True Grit, and enjoyed some dessert. After the boy was in bed we all finished watching the movie together. It was a great night. It was so nice just to relax and enjoy family time celebrating the greatest, most amazing husband & daddy in the world! He is my world, and I am so blessed to get to celebrate another year with him! I hope he found his day as special as I did.

Yesterday was also a special day, because it was the first snow of the season. The first one that Luc got to see and experience. I took him outside to let him "play" a little bit, and he is undecided on if he likes the taste of snow or not....below are some pics from his "snow-perience"....

Love my life....

Here goes nothing....

So......I've been contemplating starting a blog for some time now, and am finally going to give it a go. Who knows where this will go, but I thought it would be fun to try.

I will start out by telling you a bit about me & the fam...
I am a happily married, stay at home mom. I love to read, cook/bake, spend time outside, and with my friends & family. I used to be a gymnast, and still love to follow the sport. My family is my world, and I love them to pieces! I am SO blessed with my husband and our son. God is good....all the time!
My husband, Josh, is an engineer by day, and a rocking drummer, sports enthusiast (softball), and hunter by night and weekend! He is a GREAT husband and father, and is one of my two greatest blessings in life.
Our little man, Luc, is 7 1/2 months old. He has brought so much joy & fun to our lives since he was born. Yes, we've had a lot of new experiences since he entered our world, but every single one of them is TOTALLY worth it....even the sleep deprivation.

We love our little house in the country, and love living each day to its fullest. Of course we have our struggles and ins and outs of our daily lives, but we do the best we can. Whenever anyone asks my hubby how he is, his answer has always, and still is "livin' the dream". We are making our dream life one day at a time....and I love it.
